Angels of Excellence

So, remember a long time ago, and I was super stressed out because I can't say no and I was doing so much stuff for work?
Well, it's okay because my company (heart) loves me!
Every year, Victoria's Secret runs a recognition program for store managers, co-managers etc. Based on store performance throughout the year in all possible categories, the top 102 store managers, something like 10 District Mangers 2 or 3 Regional Managers get to go on a kind of retreat with the EVP's and attend seminars and classes that are oh-so-motivational and also get pampered. Be excited because this year, when I totally had 4 weeks and 75 spots to gain I ended #101. That's right ladies and gentlemen! This year from April 20-24th I will be enjoying a fantastic getaway courtesy of the company that loves me and my store. But I am also VERY excited for the goody bag. Coach, Kate Spade, Tiffany, Dooney and Bourke are all awesome contributors to goody bags from years passed. Maybe since it's a lean year for many companies the goody bag won't be as awesome, but you won't find me complaining. I am happy to be with a company that appreciates and recognizes effort-on all levels.

Where AOE was last year: The Hotel Coronado

And the year before: Bacara Resort and Spa

Yes, thank you, I WILL stay a week at a spa/resort like one of these and enjoy the sunshine, special treatment and hobnobbing with all the VIP's. Thanks very much!

Don't be Concerned, I'm all grown up now...

THE TURKEY NAMED MOLLY
*Note, no spelling corrections have been made.

Once upon a time there was a turkey named Molly. Molly was a new turkey. She was almost one. There was another turkey her age. Her name was Mollery. Mollery and Molly's names almost sounded alike. So every turkey thought they were twins. But they were not. They were only best friends. But one day Mollery got turkeynapped! Molly had no more friends. But on her birthday she got turkeynapped. And then the people who turkeynapped her killed her. The same people that turkeynapped Molly were the same ones that turkenapped Mollery. And they killed her too. Two months later Molly's and Mollery's mother's had new baby turkeys and they soon forgot all about Molly and Mollery. Molly's sisters name was Mallery. Mollery's sisters name was Mandee. And they were happy. Then Mollery's father was Thanksgiving dinner. Mollery's mother got married to another turkey. The other turkey family ten kids. The first, Megan, the second, Mekcenna, the third Max, the fourth, Richard, the fifth Ashly, the sixth, Amy, the seventh, Randy, the eigtth, Kevin, the ninth Wesley, the tenth Syidney.
The End

As you can see I had some concerns as a child.
1. I was terrified of getting kidnpped as a child. I used to think about it CONSTANTLY.
2. I was pretty sure that if I ever got kidnapped, my family would forget about me pretty quickly and not concern themselves with me at all.
3. I was a little obsessed with killing things.
4. I loved to separate my sentences, and also to use excessive commas.

This is not the only story I wrote about animal-nappings. Not even close. Nor is it the only one about Thanksgiving being the cause of torn apart families...hmm.

But as my mom and I were cleaning out the "office" in the basement and sorting through old papers we found this. We were nearly dying of laughter, and I really did laugh so hard I cried. It was hilarious. Maybe if you're well behaved, I will someday share my story about potatoville. But only if you're lucky.

It's time you get to know me...

I was talking with a friend the other day about all the things you can post on facebook, and how people are putting up "25 random things",and she was saying that's what her blog is for. Well, I agree, this is such a good place to do that! So, if anyone is reading my blog, here are some things you should know about me, or may just find ineresting. Or then again, you may not.

1. I love school. So much that I wish I was still in school, but have no idea what to keep studying.
2. I want to go to graduate school, but I feel like it would be wasteful to go if I'm not 100% committed to something, and I just don't know what to do!
3. I love peonies, so if you ever want to send me flowers, those are my #1 choice.
4. I am trying to be a better person.
5. I wish all my family lived somewhere else so I could move. I want to live anywhere else, but want to be near my family.
6. Obviously, I love my family.
7. I love my friends too, they are like more family.
8. I love headbands (see below)
9. I cannot wink, or whistle, and I have only recently learned how to somewhat snap.
10. I love hearts. Perhaps this is because my birthday us Valentine's Day, or maybe I am just fortunate.
11. I am so lucky that Jeff and Heather make cute and fun kids, because I enjoy playing with them.
12. I am very fortunate I think that all my siblings are fun to be around.
13. I love to shop. There, I said it. Even just for groceries!
14. I wish I could really paint.
15. I still want to be an archaeologist or art restorer when I grow up.
16. I love my job alot. But sometimes think I don't want to be there forever, or even in the same field forever.
17. I have been skydiving, but not bungee jumping and want to go very bad.
18. I don't think of myself as a picky eater, but it was recently brought to my attention that I am NOT a "like everything girl." I don't like olives, or mushrooms, or fish or any ocean dwelling animal, or strange parts of animals like tongue, or anything. So yeah, I'm somewhat picky. But if it's necessary to be polite, I will eat them.
19. I can sleep anytime, anywhere. Really. It's a blessing and a curse.
20. I also cry at the stupidest things. Like commercials, or the "sad" parts in comedies, like House Bunny or Baby Mama.
21. I like star trek the next generation. But I could not tell you if something was in clingon or what species some alien is, or what the # of the ship is. I just like to watch it okay?
22. I LOVE to write in my journal, like it's a therapist and I am pretty specific about the journals I write in. I like to carry them with me everywhere I go so that when the mood strikes, I can write.
23. I'm pretty convinced that someday, someone will discover my hidden skill and make me rich and famous for it. It will happen one day, when I least expect it, and I still don't know what they'll discover. But it will be awesome.

That's all for now. I just thought you should know.
Because I feel like my life is mostly an open book, but just in case you didn't know these things, now you do.
Just some things you should know.
