I've been doing some reading lately and feel so refreshed and rejuvenated by my interactions with the written word. I'd forgotten how much I really love to read. Not like I stopped reading all together-but had pushed it aside-letting it take the back burner to lots of other things in my life. But now I'm curious. What are your favorites? I know SOME people read this because you've commented or told me you do. So, Heather, Mom, Sarah, Denise, Meagan, Brooke, Roxanne, Liesl, Jules...and others...what are your favorites?
Mine are many. I love Jane Eyre. I love The Princess Academy. I love The Alchemist. I love Ella Enchanted. I really like 'Til we Have Faces (I don't know if I LOVE it.) I love The Most Beautiful Book in the World. I love Ella Minnow Pea. I love The Historian. I love the Book of Mormon. I can't think of others right now, though there are many that go unlisted.
Ooh, in other news. Our stake has challenged us all to read the Book of Mormon by the beginning of June, and I have had a wonderful time so far reading with my roommate, Holly. Yesterday we took a tip from a sweet girl in our ward that shared the idea at Ward Prayer, and bought new little copies at the distribution center to read this time through. We're each reading with our own lense, seeing what we get out of it for this time of our lives. I have always wanted to do this, so I am very excited. Plus, it's fun at the end of each day to catch up and read the scriptures together, and to share insights we've had over the past few days. I LOVE to talk about spiritual things with my friends, I always get such good insights from them. So thanks, friends.

For an entertaining light read, try Mauve Binchey's books. I don't read many books these days - my favorite read right now is Smithsonian magazine.
Denise
Debbie Macomber is also a light, entertaining read. I think her first in a series is The Shop on Blossom Street.
I love all the other Shannon Hale books. If you've read Princess Academy, chances are you have read those.
I love the Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.
The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield is great, too, as well as the Sarah Prine books by Nancy E. Turner.
The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom is very good, if you want something that is not fiction.
And, if you've made it this far in my babbling, I would suggest that you join goodreads.com. Many in the family are on there, as I'm sure your friends will be, and it's a great place to get book suggestions.
I recently read the Fablehaven series by Brandon Mull. They're amazing and fun! Others I've recently read that are great are Countess Below Stairs by Eva Ibbotson, Mount Vernon Love Story by Mary Higgins Clark, A Long Way from Chicago and A Year Down Yonder both by Richard Peck, The Graveyard Book by Neil Gailman, A Lion and A Lamb by Rand Packer, A Little Bit Wicked by Kristin Chenoweth, The Girl Who Could Fly by Victoria Forester, Premonitions and Disapappearance both by Jude Watson, and I also like books by Jessica Day George(especially Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow). I better stop myself here. I have too many favorites to list them all! Goodreads is a good suggestion but I also like using the Visual Bookshelf on Facebook to track what I read and share with others.

And I love the reference to Beauty and the Beast, by the way. :)
I've gotten back into reading recently too, but I'm mostly reading books that I've already read a million times to make sure I'm entertained. Why is that so many women love Jane Eyre? I hated it. Ugh. Running with the Demon, A Knight of the Word, and Angel Fire East are a few good ones by Terry Brooks. I liked The Ballad of Frankie Silver by Sharon McCrumb (I'm pretty sure that's her name.) If you find some good ones, you should definitely pass them along.
